A short piece of English and Maths homework for this half term is set each night to be completed by the next day.
We are currently revising the spellings which we have had this year. Please see the link to the list below.REMEMBER: Use the Look, Say, Cover, Write and Check Strategy!
We encourage our pupils to read every night, but at least 3 times a week is expected. Do remember that after every third star chart, they will be invited to one of Mrs Anderson's tea parties. Also, keep an eye on their quiz-taking on Accelerated Reader.

Cornwall in WAR
This term we are beginning our Cornwall topic. All of our topic areas focus on a wide range of core skills which aim to equip your children with a range of experiences. From looking at the places within the region that engaged with World War II, to delving into the history books investigating a Cornish family in Penryn who were affected by war, the topic covers a whole range of different core skills. The children will also have an opportunity to study a local Cornish artist and use charcoal to create atmosphere in their compositions. Moreover, the children will also learn to understand their own place within a historical time frame to be able to empathise with soldiers and families that WWII affected. This is a great topic and it has great regional significance. We cannot wait to begin our learning.
We are learning all about how light travels this term in our Science lessons. By integrating this with our 'Cornwall in War' topic, the children will gain an understanding as to materials used to create a 'blackout' and also light restricting and light reflecting/refracting materials. We will also be learning about the eye and conducting some experiments into refraction.
