Welcome to Malpas!
Mr Lovelock and Mrs Rule.
During our English lessons over the Summer Term, we will be looking at various stories, some linked to our Cornwall topic, to develop our transcription and composition skills. We will have a focused reading session each week, as well as a SPaG lesson to help children develop their writing.
Throughout this term in maths, Malpas will be building on learning from the previous half terms with a stong reasoning and problem solving focus. We will tackle decimals, position and direction, shape and fractions and percentages. Near the end of the year, we will look back at what the children have learned and ensure their understanding is secure and ready for Year 6.
Our Topic for this half term is 'Cornwall Farming'. We will delve into the world of farming to find out what farming is, the different types of farming, sustainable energy and how farming effects our lives. We are looking forward to our trip to the Royal Cornwall Show, where we will be able to develop and apply our learning from this topic.
