This Autumn term, we are reading a book about a boy called Bertie who has a very special pet...a white lion which turns into a'White Prince' when it is sold to a French circus and then finally he returns to Bertie.
Our current class book is...
 
'The Butterfly Lion' by Michael Morpurgo


 
In Maths, this half term we are focusing on a range of times tables through our times table caterpillars.
 
We are also thinking about place value within three digit numbers and using this to help with our addition and subtraction.
In English, we are focusing on Fiction writing in the form of a 'quest tale'. This will be based on a Stone Age journey which is linked to our topic 'Set in Stone.'
 
We will first be learning about the main parts of a quest tale through drama, actions and story maps.  Then we will use this learning to create our own characters and a quest tale.
 
Our quest tale is...
InTopic, we will be learning about the History based unit 'Set in Stone' which explores the lives and legacy of early Britons and settlers, including those who lived during the Stone, Bronze and Iron Ages. Pupils will have the opportunity to consider how and why the why the ways of life adopted by prehistoric people slowly changed over time. 
In Science, we will be learning about the unit 'Animals including humans' where we are focusing on how we as humans are similar and different to animals through our skeleton type, the food which we eat and how our bodies move.
