Pupil Premium

Pupil Premium

What is ‘Pupil Premium’?

Pupil Premium is additional funding that is allocated to schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils, closing the gap between them and their peers. In addition to FSM the school may also receive pupil premium for any ‘Looked after children’ (Children in Care), Armed forces children or children who have been adopted, have a residency order or special guardianship.

‘Pupil Premium’ is given to schools based on the numbers of pupils in the school who are eligible for Free School Meals (FSM). From 2012-13, it was expanded to include all children who have been eligible for FSM within the last 6 years.

At St Meriadoc Junior Academy we are committed to raising the standards and supporting the needs of all our pupils. As part of this process we track carefully the progress made by every individual pupil. Our Pupil Premium funding is allocated to a range of resources to ensure our pupils have the opportunities to reach their full potential.
