Welcome to St Meriadoc Infant & Nursery and St Meriadoc Junior Academies.
Although we are two schools situated just a mile apart, we are united under one headteacher and one shared vision. We work together as one community to ensure we meet the needs of all our children, families and the wider school community.
We hope you enjoy exploring our website and that it gives you a clear sense of life at St Meriadoc. If you have any questions or cannot find the information you are looking for, please contact either school—we are always happy to help.
At St Meriadoc, we aim to offer an irresistible invitation to learning. For us, learning is far more than taking in facts—it is the opportunity to explore, experience, question, discover and grow. Throughout the year, we plan a wide range of exciting opportunities that bring learning to life, spark curiosity and ignite a passion for knowledge in our pupils.
Our Christian vision,
“With God’s love, our Christian values and our broad and aspirational curriculum we:
Shine our light on ourselves;
Shine our light on others;
Shine our light on our community and the wider world,”
is central to everything we do.
“Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” — Matthew 5:16
Our school vision, “Let Your Light Shine,” is known and understood across our whole community. To us, it means giving pupils, colleagues and families the skills, experiences and confidence to flourish and be the very best they can be. This aligns beautifully with our school motto, “Believe You Can.” We empower everyone who walks through our doors to develop self-belief, have high aspirations and shine their light brightly.
Both schools share a special set of values—chosen by our pupils, staff, families and governors—which guide daily teaching, learning and relationships. These values shape our character, build our community and support every child to thrive.
We also recognise the vital role parents play in their child’s education. Strong partnerships between home and school have a powerful impact on children’s learning, development and well-being. We warmly welcome parents to be part of their child’s school journey and actively encourage involvement in school life.
Our ethos is warm, welcoming and inclusive—a place where good manners, high standards of behaviour and mutual respect are expected and celebrated. We want every child and adult to feel safe, valued and able to shine.
St Meriadoc is a very special place to learn, and we warmly welcome visitors to come and see this for themselves.
