As a school, we encourage every child to “look out” beyond themselves and recognise the difference they can make in the lives of others. Guided by our vision, “Let your light shine,” we help pupils to understand that each person has unique gifts and a responsibility to use them for good. Through our focus on becoming Agents for Change, children are inspired to act with compassion, courage and a strong sense of justice, knowing that even small actions can have a lasting impact. This is rooted in our approach to spirituality, where pupils are supported to reflect on their values, their faith, and their purpose, so that they grow into thoughtful, confident individuals who shine their light to serve others and the wider world.
Agents for Change Club
Every Thursday, a small group of change-makers come together to think about what we could do to make a positive impact on our local community. We think of this as faith in action, following Jesus’ example of loving others, serving those in need, and standing up for what is right.
During our first session, pupils reflected on issues affecting our local community and considered how they could make a positive difference and be role models to others. The group identified Creation Care as a priority, recognising their Christian responsibility to look after God’s world. The following week, pupils put their faith into action by taking part in a beach clean at Portreath Beach, joining Surfers Against Sewage’s 'Million Mile Clean'.
