Church School

At St Meriadoc Junior Academy, we follow six Christian values which impact all areas of school life. These values have been chosen by our pupils, staff, parents, carers and governors.

These values are...

  • Forgiveness

  • Trust

  • Thankfulness

  • Courage

  • Friendship

  • Truthfulness

Each term we focus on a particular value within our school and look out for people who are demonstrating this value. We celebrate these examples together and use them to develop ourselves and each other.

Every Wednesday we hold a Clergy Assembly, where we have special visitors from local churches who come and take our collective worship. We work closely with our partner church of St Martin and St Meriadoc, as well as Tuckingmill Baptist Church and 'Open the Book' who are also members from our partner church of St Martin and St Meriadoc.

As a Church of England Academy we are monitored through an inspection called SIAMS. This is an inspection that focuses on the religious aspects of our school including our school vision and how we live this on a daily basis through assemblies, RE lessons, the ethos of the school and staff as well as the social, moral, spiritual and cultural opportunities the school provides for its' pupils.

Our last inspection was carried out on 23rd March 2018 and we were thrilled to gain the grade of OUTSTANDING. Please have a read of our report below.

Below you can also find our RE policy and Collective Worship policy. If you have any questions please do come in and speak to Mrs Patterson (RE lead), Mrs Nisbet (Collective Worship) or Mrs Anderson.
