Governors

Our Governors

St Meriadoc CE Junior Academy Local Governing Body merged with the Local Governing Body of St Meriadoc CE Infant Academy at the onset of the academic year 2019/2020. There is now one new Local Governing Body for both St Meriadoc Schools. One Governing Body serving the same families from the age of 2 to 11.

Governor Visits

Our Governors visit the school following our clear Governor Monitoring Timeline, focusing on their lead area.

The lead areas each Governor is responsible for is listed below. Visits provide an opportunity for Governors to discuss their key areas with Heads and lead staff, observe sessions, chat with the children about their learning, discuss updates, improvements and next steps for their key area through the School Development Plan and/or SEF and monitor progress in the learning environment and in books. Governors are provided with suggested stem questions to support their monitoring.

After each visit, the Governor compiles a report which is presented to the Governing Body at its next meeting. Governor reports are collated with impact recorded. See below for Governor Monitoring Timeline, Governor Visit Forms (these will be added following the timeline), Governor Visit Reports and Impact of Governor Visits Document.
