In our school we work tirelessly to ensure all children leave our school with excellent standards in English, Maths and RE. We are constantly assessing the children to ensure that lessons are planned to help them make great progress. We endeavor to give the children many life skills and a wide range of learning opportunities in school through a broad and balanced curriculum. Not only do we ensure we plan exciting lessons to meet the National Curriculum we provide many other activities and sessions.
We have worked with a local artist, Melanie Young, who helped each class to create a ‘legacy’ piece of artwork for the school.
We also have a school Samba band and each class gets a half-term block to hone their drumming skills with a specialist Samba teacher.
We have close links with our Infants school and encourage across keystage activities whenever possible.
We have close links with Camborne Science and International Academy across the field from us and children take part in a wide range of PE and Science lessons on their site. We make the most of the fantastic workshops on offer from their Nexus facility.
Broad and balanced curriculum
We love to offer our children a wide range of opportunities and experiences. Our aim is to ensure a depth of understanding and recall of knowledge that the children are able to use and apply in their education, now and in the future. This term we have held one of our regular display days where the children and their teachers had a chance to explore and learn about a range of topics in order to create many wonderful displays for our school. The children love these days where they are learning for a purpose. Displays created included a range of areas of the curriculum from The Amazon, Noah's ark, happiness, famous scientists and many more wonderful areas of learning.
We are excited to announce our wonderful Cornwall topic will return this Summer 2020!
Fingers crossed for lots of sunshine and a fantastic Summer of learning.
